Week 15 : Playoff Knockouts

The postseason is here, and we got a crazy weekend of NFL football to kick it off including: The largest ever NFL comeback (Vikings over Colts) 3 overtime games 9 1 score games One of the dumbest NFL plays I've ever seen Whether you spent your weekend watching Trevor Lawrence break out against the Cowboys defense, or the Texans almost win again against a much better opponent I hope you all found some time to enjoy some good football even if your team wasn't crushing it. Matchups The Loch Ness Burrow vs Roswell LAMARtians Lamar? Out. Mike White? Also out. Tannehill? well, he played most of the game I guess. LAMARtians had a truly horrible time finding a QB to play this week but it ended up not making a whole lot of difference as Burrow rolled by with with a ~45 point margin. Even with JT going down to a first quarter injury, Burrow put up a very balanced game, getting between 10-20 points from 6 of his players and a solid 27 from his namesake QB. It's a good thing this te...

Week 14: Pickups of the Year

Pickup of the year? And just like that, the regular season is over. Playoffs are set, losers bracket is preparing their rosters to dodge the humiliation of a (possibly new?) Hen trophy, and it's time to look back. Specifically, lets look back position by position at the best pickups of the season. Pickups Quarterback Geno Smith (QB7), Chipped by Billy G What a year it has been for Geno Smith. Undrafted until picked up for $0 by Chipped by Billy G in early October, Geno has been super consistent, scoring 2 or more TDs in every game for the last 7 weeks. He rarely breaks the 30 point mark, but also almost never dips below 20.  It's insane how well he's playing after being an afterthought in the blockbuster Denver/Seattle trade over the summer. Tanking? Nah, the Seahawks are aiming for playoffs and Geno is trying to will them there. Honorable mentions: Trevor Lawrence (QB9) Hazers Derek Carr (QB10) : I don't know who to credit with this one. He was drafted and dropped an...

Week 13: Then and Now

Then and Now Alright gentlemen, with just 1 more regular season week left in the season, I thought we’d do a little lookback. A lookback on the season, where we started, where we are now, and a bunch of random facts from the season (or at least things I want to poke fun at). Quite frankly, it’ll be all over the place and not nearly as organized as Greg because 1) with the most points scored on the season I sit in 6th place without a pretty little asterisk next to my team name so I’m bitter and 2) because it’s 10pm on Tuesday and well… life. Hopefully, you still enjoy. Here goes nothing…  The two areas I’ll focus on: Draft Grades & Draft Day Projections   Draft Grades : Let’s start with the most obvious, draft grades. It’s always fun seeing those draft grades from yahoo - mostly we all call it a joke because they dock you for not having backup QBs & TEs, etc. But let’s be real, it’s still nice when you get an A or the “Best Draft”. Does anyone ever remember what their ...
