2023 Week 7 : Muddy Waters

get 'em marshtomp Well alright, I said last week that in this pivotal point in the season there was a lot of room for shifting standings, and just one week later 2/3 of the league is within a single game duking it out for playoff positioning. While the wonderfully renamed Jonathan (Taylor's Version) has a big enough point buffer to fend off the 3-4 teams for a bit, it's not an exaggeration to say that teams as far down as 9th could rise to the 3rd-5th range by next week's commentary. With that in mind, lets do some power rankings. Power Rankings Rather than discuss which teams will or won't make the playoffs, I thought we could take a look at just the last 3 weeks to see which teams are trending in positive or negative directions. After all, things change quickly in fantasy. Since the September kickoff we've seen players break out, fade into obscurity, or lose their season to injury. These teams are not what they were in week 1. Leading The Race(120+ points/we...

2023 Week 6: Perfectly Balanced

as all things should be Week 6 is in the books, and while some teams might feel like their seasons are over, or they're a lock for the championship, we currently have a nicely balanced standings list that could easily swing people from one side of the spectrum to another. Currently there is: One team at 5-1, that would need extraordinary bad luck to miss playoffs (I wonder who...?) 3 teams at 4-2 with pretty strong chances 4 teams at 3-3 who could end up on either side 3 teams at 2-4 in striking distance Steve at 1-5, patiently awaiting elimination None of the 2-4 teams are separated from the top of the 3-3 bracket by more than 100 points, and there's plenty of time to regain that ground. At this point in the season it really feels like every matchup matters a lot . If you picked up your second win of the season you're now feeling much more hopeful (I assume) and if you were a previously unbeatable team that has now dropped 2/3 games (Kevin) my guess is you're feeling...

2023 Week 5: Did I really keep him?

This keeper figured it out eventually, maybe yours will too Welcome back to weekly commentary! I strategically skipped last week so I wouldn't have to write anything positive about Austin Kidd's team, but regretfully I do have some nice stuff to say about one of his players today. This week, we're going to take a look at how our keeper choices have fared through the first 5 weeks and determine who really got value out of their selections (spoilers: not a lot of us). Keepers TJ Hock’s Pro Skater  Devonta Smith (8th round) WR26 on the season, he has been quite up and down through 5 weeks, but still someone you're very happy to have at an 8th round value. The fact that he's always capable of hauling in a Hurts deep TD makes him a must start, so I'll call this a solid value. Ja'Mario Kart 109.45 Chris Olave (9th round) WR30 so far. He had a great 3 week run to start the season but his usage in the last 2 weeks has been baffling. Just 16 yards on 3 catches isn...
